7/14 1:17am:  I saw Farenheit 9/11 this evening with my friend Leah.  The experience was so interesting for me, because I realized I had caught wind of every one of the issues raised in some capacity, usually in the form of casual conversation with some who “had read somewhere” or had “heard from someone”.  To see each one of these issues raised and explored one after another was overwhelming to say the least.  Now, liberals will flock to this movie and shake their heads in disgust.  Super!  We can all get together, not shower, throw on some patchouli and chant/whine about all this wrong doing.  Or at least that’s what Bill O’Reilly would like us to do!  Here’s my question:  What do conservatives see when they watch this movie?  The law of averages says that a certain percentage of this “left wing” propaganda must be true, and if it is...  Why haven’t we started impeachment proceedings against this man?  (Oops!  I forgot the whole Government and now the major media is controlled by the Right!)  Bill Clinton lied about a blow-job and Conservatives spent something like 20 million dollars of our tax money to impeach him.  “W” lies (WMD) and has seemingly turned our Government into a nightmare, sending us into Iraq as the death toll climbs to nearly 1000 young, impoverished soldiers and we’re un-American to speak up!  What the fuck is going on?!!  What’s up with the whole Bin-Ladin connection?  Should I think twice about writing this in an online journal?
I have realized how much I really care and cherish this country since this man has come into office.  Too much oil.  Too much money.  Too much power.  I’m unimpressed and ashamed.

6:47am: I'ts good to be back in New England and I'm enjoying it immensely.  Summer in S. Florida is at its best for "2 for 1" dinners and a general comparative lack of congestion, but it's really HOT!  The heat reminds me of the winters up here.  You stand in an air conditioned building, anticipating the transition between the building and your car.  Once in your car the heat is overwhelming until you get your AC fired up, and you just have to sweat profusely and find a way to breath until the car cools off.  Sound familiar New Englanders?!  The summer down south is really very nice for awhile.  Most of the seasonal folks leave town sometime in May and you get a feeling that the folks that are left are the real core of the community. But the heat is just as vicious as the cold!

The summer up here has been cool and beautiful.  I am back in my apartment, enjoying my own space again and the company of my landlords Mark and Susan Boss and their wonderful puppy Sandy.  Nice folks and amzingly talented artists.

It's also been nice playing again, but it's time to make a committment away from club work and transition to more selective performances.  This is a tough business.  At the moment, it's more confusing than ever to figure out how to make a living.  I find it best to concentrate on making a living elsewhere and focus on the craft of music.  That way you nurture the love of music and the destination of money doesn't become the focus.  Maybe med school would have been easier, but we've got too many doctors driving Hummers and courting drug companies.  That however is their Karma.  I would rather teach yoga and play music, all the while inspiring folks to take responsibility for every aspect of their destiny. If I could just make a decent living!

Time to start the day teaching Bikram Yoga.  We'll change the world one sweaty yogi at a time...
