11/7 1:53pm: So, the post election blues seem to be subsiding at least in intensity.
It’s apparent that this country is going to have to learn it’s lessons the hard
way. The saddest part of all this is that the United States are not very “united”.
There is a major split in the way we all perceive what’s going on here.
This concept of Government is very “un-American” and when I recently questioned
a dear/Republican friend of mine whom I respect, about the whole “Haliburton”
issue, she simply replied: “I don’t care about it.” She told me that this election
was all about “morality”.
Somehow the Republican Party has become the party of “morality” and the Democratic
Party has become the party of “immorality”. I am what people used to call a Conservative
Democrat. I wouldn’t call myself a Liberal by any means, but I certainly wouldn’t
call myself immoral and to many people in this country I am now someone lacking
in morals.
I personally recommend that the Democratic Party start talking about “tolerance”.
I don’t see how this has happened but we seem to be headed to intolerance and
I find it frightening. I’m not talking about rationalizing everything and declaring
that “anything goes”! Whatever happened to agreeing to disagree? 51% of the
people in this country seem to think if you disagree you are immoral, (although I'm hoping most Americans are still comprising the bulk of the political middle
ground). A feeling shared by some of the greatest dictators in this world. I
think this might be getting a bit freaky.
I'm headed out this eve to meet my friend Linda for dinner in Sturbridge,
MA. For years we've been meeting halfway (she from Boston and I from Northampton)
to catch up and have dinner. She's one of my closest and oldest friends. She
is a reminder that women can have it all; beautiful, bright and strong. She's
a talented actor and an amazing friend.
If you're casting a movie and you need a gorgeous red headed Irish/Italian woman...
she's your gal!
11/27 8:10am: It’s the day after, the day after Thanksgiving and I am thankful that I can now
stop eating! I had actually been fasting for a few days before the holiday. This
amazing fast I had first heard about when the magician David Blaine was on the
Howard Stern show. He was talking about this cleansing fast “Master Cleanser”.
Robin Quivers, (Howard’s sidekick), started the fast primarily because she was
having major problems with joint / back pain. As the story goes, after going on
a regular program of fasting a portion of each month, she is pain free and 70
pounds lighter. Most impressively, everybody who does this, swears by it… as do
I. When I do this I have absolutely no joint pain! You can get some info if

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my friend Sara, her kids and the great Joe
Boyle. I graced the table with my mother’s famous Squash Souffle which I woke up early and whipped up. I
kept reminding everybody, that just because I’m clean, I make a mean Sqaush Souffle,
I teach yoga and I love kids… that doesn’t mean anything! The food and the company
were great.
I’m so focused on my current business venture and teaching that I literally
have time for nothing else. I’m sure one of these days I’ll date again, but at
the moment I’d rather build upon a solid foundation, and I’m sure all else will
fall into place. This may be the toughest piece of the puzzle for entrepreneurs.
“Normal” people affiliate with organizations/corporations who supply the foundation.
Dreamers are best at dreaming and are usually not good at creating from the bottom
up. Once a “dreamer” figures out that you can’t build a dream on dreams… watch
out, then you’ve got an entrepreneur on your hands. I’ve always really enjoyed
business, and rely upon my very grounded business CEO pal Bill Sherman for advice.
He gives this project two thumbs up, so I’m good to go! It’s all very exciting
and I have complete confidence that the future looks bright. I just want to be
able to take care of the people I love and finance a music career. It’s all pretty
simple.
I’ve met some wonderful women in the past couple of years and I’ve refined
my screening process to the point where I’m hoping I can see “the madness” and
continue to stay far away from such. I’m on the right path at the moment. Lots
of yoga, and no bullshit/distractions.
